This is a comprehensive exam. Please see the link from the home page on midterm comments.
In general, you should go over the class notes, links, and work in your shared folder as well as midterm.
The exam is in two parts:
Part 1: Objective (hands-off) Covers entire course
Part 2: Hands-On, Covers entire course
Part 1:
This part of the test is multiple choice and is organized around the seven skill areas listed in the catalog and in the course syllabus:
1. Introduction to Computing (hardware, software, files, and formats).
2. Computers and Text (the uses of word processing software).
3. Computers and Numbers (quantitative analysis using spreadsheet software).
4. Computers and Information Retrieval (structuring and retrieving data using database software).
5. Computers and Graphics (visualizing and illustrating data using graphics software).
6. Computer Communications (using Local Area Networks, electronic mail, and the World Wide Web).
7. Computer Ethics (issues of privacy and the legal use of software and data).
For the hands-on part, you may bring your text and notes. You may refer to anything on the Internet. You may refer to your files in your groups folder, your Y drive, the class folder, etc.
